On this day in ...... 2001 (10 years ago today), Helene Faasen and Anne-Marie Thus (right), both notaries, were married at city hall in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. They became the world's 1st same-sex couple to be legally married. Both brides wore lacy gowns, one in white with veil, one in a creamier tone.
