On this day in ...... 2005 (5 years ago today), Zacarias Moussaoui pleaded guilty to participation in an al Qaeda conspiracy connected with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. This January, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit affirmed the conviction-by-plea and consequent sentence to life imprisonment, which Moussaoui (left) is serving at the U.S. "Supermax" prison near Florence, Colorado. Meanwhile. as yet untried, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (prior posts) and other alleged participants in the 9/11 attacks, all detained at Guantánamo.
