Tucked away on the Senate's docket Thursday -- lost in the hubbub about Elena Kagan -- was news of another confirmation of note:Senators unanimously approved the nomination of Melinda Haag (right) to be the top federal prosecutor for the Northern District of California. As posted at the time of her nomination, Melinda, with whom this 'Grrl was privileged to serve as defense co-counsel in a federal case a while back, becomes the 2d woman ever to serve as U.S. Attorney in San Francisco, headquarters of the district.
