The 1st such conference, held in 2007 at the University of Akron in Ohio, was described a while back in a guest post by the organizer of that conference, Akron Law Professor and IntLawGrrls alumna Tracy A. Thomas.
This 2d conference will be held on October 14, 2011, at Chicago-Kent College of Law; cosponsors are the Chicago-Kent Institute for Law and the Humanities and the Chicago-Kent Law Review. Speakers will be asked to contribute a short written piece to the law review. (hat tip Legal History Blog)
The organizer, Kent Law Professor Felice Batlan (left), who took part in the 1st conference, writes:We are seeking papers which discuss from a historical perspective issues involving women, gender, and the law. Topics can span time periods, geographies, and disciplines.
