On this day in ...... 1975 (35 years ago today), the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on Their Destruction entered into force, 3 years after it had been opened for signature and the same day that the United States deposited its instruments of ratification, thus joining this Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention. Today it has 163 states parties.
