... 1949, Anne Veneman (top right) was born in Modesto, California. She is the Executive Director of UNICEF, having assumed that position in 2005 upon the
resignation of Carol Bellamy (bottom right). Veneman practiced law and worked in California state government before serving from 2001 to 2005 as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, the 1st woman to hold the post.
