"Gender & Transitional Justice"

Hot off the presses, the new Oxford review, International Journal of Transitional Justice, devotes an entire volume to issues of "Gender and Transitional Justice." The lineup and contents look terrific, beginning with the Editorial Note by Navanethem Pillay, a Judge on the International Criminal Court and formerly President of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Among the special issue's other rich offerings:
► Underenforcement and Intersectionality: Gendered Aspects of Transition for Women, by Fionnuala Ní Aoláin of the Universities of Minnesota and Ulster and Eilish Rooney of the University of Ulster
► Depoliticised Speech and Sexed Visibility: Women, Gender and Sexual Violence in the 1999 Guatemalan Comisión para el Esclarecimiento Histórico Report, by Emily Rosser of York University in Toronto
► The Gender of Transitional Justice: Law, Sexual Violence and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, by Kirsten Campbell of the University of London
► A book review of What Happened to the Women? Gender and Reparations for Human Rights Violations (Ruth Rubio-Marín ed., 2006), by Katie Zoglin, a Bay Area-based colleague now working for the American Bar Association's Rule of Law Initiative in Morocco.
And that's just a sampling.
