Write On! 'Territoires du Droit: Placing Law'

(Write On! is an occasional item about notable calls for papers.) The U.S.-based Law and Society Association's put out a call for participation in its next annual meeting, a joint venture with its Canadian counterpart to be held May 29-June 1, 2008, in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
Theme for the 2008 meeting is "Les Territoires du Droit: Placing Law." The very topic invites entries from those who study transnational and international legal phenomena. In LSA's own words:
The theme for this meeting signals that law is rooted in places — from families and villages to the global economy — and that law has the power to place and displace people in space, time, and relationships. We invite papers and encourage multi-disciplinary scholarship that reflect on the many dimensions of law, place, and power.
Details on how to submit a paper proposal, submit a panel proposal (tip: best chance for acceptance, if you line up all panelists), or volunteer as chair or discussant here. Deadline's Dec. 12, 2007.
