Fifty-years earlier the Ohio-born Woodhull -- "a vocal advocate of women's rights, labor reform and free love," and proprietor of the 1st woman-owned Wall Street brokerage -- had been the 1st woman to run for President of the United States following her nomination in New York by the Equal Rights Party.
